One egg....then never again

EE's can be sporadic layers.....don't think it's because they 'take more' tho.
That pic does not look like a laying hen, paler comb.
I'm betting both greenish eggs came from same bird.
Is one of those a double yolker?

but I have no idea where or what that vent looks like ... lol. I haven’t had anyone here to hold one up while I try to peek. Ick.
Yes, harder to do alone, but it can be done.
Icky? Sometimes, butt(haha!) not usually, and it's essential to be able to examine your birds vent ends regularly...to look for bugs and so you know how when it becomes a health issue.

Thanks. Geez you have a lot of chickens !!
I just thought maybe I did something wrong ~ one egg then nothing just seems weird when the rest are laying. But it must be breed related...? The others aren’t EE’s. RIR
They each, certainly have their own personalities!

you’re correct. I should be able to look. It’s important for their health . I know that because I can do anything for my dogs, and I do. That photo wasn’t new. Here is a more recent photo of my Easter Egger. The big weird one in the back is a mixed breed but she has strange white marks in her cheeks. But she faithfully lays a big egg every day! Sometimes they are balloon eggs, even though she has lots of oyster shell and layer pellet.
Heres new photos of my EE.

(I had to delete & rewrite my reply. Some weird photo showed up that wasn’t mine! )
But you’re correct. I’ll learn to check the hens as well as I check my dogs.
The photo at the beginning of the thread of my EE wasn’t new. Here’s are newer photos of the EE’s. Some days their combs are redder than other days. Is that normal ??
