One time I went to a farm that had just hatched out chicks, I asked to see them, and one was not acting right, she was new hatched about 3 days old, but just standing there not eating or drinking. I picked it up, and saw it's eyes had not developed just empty sockets. I asked the lady at the farm if I could have it and take care of it, and she said yes. I took it home and gave it egg yolk, it was very happy. At the time I had a broody hen who wanted babies, she took the baby under her wing, but I was responsible for feeding it. The baby would sleep under the mom, until it heard my voice and would come running to see me and would take it's yolk water with soggy grains. It only lived for 6 days with the broody hen though, eventually the mom had crushed it, and probably didn't realize it, because she was still sitting on the chick. I really enjoyed helping it when I could.

aw well it’s good to know that it had a good life before the chicks passed.
