One eyed chickie....

OK we really are new and learning a lot. I'm also really glad I found this site. Another question that appears to be strange to me!

We have two chickens today that are running around with one eye shut. All day long....There isn't anything abnormal looking about the eye...other than it is shut.

They are eating and drinking and running about as normal. So is this strange that I haven't seen the one eye open today? Are perhapes I'm feathered brained?

If these are young chicks it is possible that they are a bit sticky or got debris in their eye. That is if they didn't arrive this way. You might snatch up the babies and gently see if their is something causing the eye to be shut. I had one like this and it was easily spread apart by my fingers. I have heard of other drizzling saline over the eye, without drowning the little one.
