I have one baby hatched and about 12 to follow. (in the incubator) How long does it take to get out of the egg once it's peeped? How long do I wait before I give up on any more hatching? I feel like one of those dads you see on TV pacing the nursery waiting room. If staring at eggs and wishing worked my eggs would all be hatched out by now. lol

Most chicks pip and zip starting on day 20, it can take 24 hours for a chick to pip the egg and zip out...most will follow after that....sometimes those pip and zip like popcorn and sometimes they take their good old time...

But it's not set in stone, it can start on day 19 and end on 23 to 25 for eggs to hatch out ...Just depends on what your temps and humidity have been at for the whole incubation ....

It can take a while.... my first one hatched EARLY morning on the 19th (day 20) and the last was late on the 20th (day 21) and the last two to hatch actually were like the 5th or so to pip. Some would pip and before they would actually hatch, others would pip, unzip and pop out [IMG]
