they say minimum order of $25. does that have to be just chicks (i only want 4) or can that be chicks and other stuff?

I think its other stuff also. But you can easily get 4 for that price! What you do is go to the breed you want and type in "extra" temporarily until the Shipping charges are added! Then update the order with the shipping charges and I think the minimum is $20. So as long as the Shipping + small order charge + 1/4 box charge and your 4 babies add up to 20 or more, you are good to go! Hope that helped and wasn't too confusing! lol.

I ordered from Ideal and got 5 chicks. Our city ordinance is only 4 and no roos but I added an extrapullet just knowing one would not make it. They all have 5 have made it though (now 8 weeks old) and I figure if ever the chicken police come around I will just have to hide my one renegade chicken. [IMG]

By the time the small order charge, shipping, insurance so no males are added, etc were all there I spent $28 and some change. So, I'm sure you could just get your 4 and maybe some grow gel or something and be at the minimum. I called in my order to just for peace of mind I figured it all right.
