I wish you all the luck in the world. If it was possible for my lone chick to have company I would do it. Although last night s/he was peeping so loudly that I had to take home out of the house and put him/her in the brooder out in the barn(a much much bigger brooder I might add). In the pen next to it(just a thin wall between them) there are my 24 (second hatch) babies. When I placed him/her in the brooder, s/he seemed content...s/he got close to the wall and listened to the older chicks(6 weeks old). I hope this is some comfort to her/him. Seems to be making him/her happy.
2 hatched! But.....they weren't the silver polish I was expecting!! Still not positive what they are, several people think BR, but the eggs they came from were a very pale tan, not dark brown.....
I have 1 month old Splash orphs.....I know they are not tiny, but they are sweet. If you can drive to Eugene...I usually sell my blue/splash Orphs for $10. Let me know if you want to do this.
I also have over a month old wellsummers and one that has bad feet we call "gimpy". If you want gimpy instead for just a playmate she can go to you for $3.
Let me know if you would like to do this or not.
Take care and best wishes!
