One month old attacked by hawk

I keep my babies in a tractor with a removable top. Well I came out and saw a hawk sitting on the tractor. When I checked on them... Nevermind I thought it had a chance but while I was writing this my literally named Limpy died from injuries

My friend uses plastic Owls to deter Hawks....I need to get some to!
She has them all over the place...She says they work....I will try it...

So sorry for your loss. Hawks are very dangerous predators of chicks. I would make sure the chick's tractor top is very securely attached or put them in a locked coop until they are older. Hawks are very present around my yard, but they rarely get to older hens or roosters. Chicks are just too easy to take.
