Hello again, I know I'm being a pain in the backside with these questions but...okay, if you were me, and you were about to place an order for black frizzle bantam cochins, how many would you order (within reason) to be almost sure that you would end up with a rooster and a couple of hens with the frizzle gene?

    Thank you so much!

...and I promise this will be the last of the questions regarding this matter...lol [IMG]

uhhhh. . . . not going to breed two frizzles together, are ya? I've been told you want the frizzled bird to be the roo and the hen smooth. Figure you're gonna get 50/50 males/females. Not all the chicks will exhibit the frizzling. I understand it is dominant, so if a bird is smooth, it does not carry the frizzle gene.

Hello MrsChickendad and thank you for responding! No, I'm not interested at all in breeding for egg sales or chicks, just the adult birds themselves is all I want.

Again, thank you and have a great day! [IMG]
