One New Chick today

well of 8 eggs so far one has hatched.. The momma is still going to be setting on the eggs as she had some later eggs added by other chickens. I did get around to marking and checking each day and removing the new eggs. Do i need to move the chick to a brooder or leave it with the momma for a while. She is up off the floor in a hens nest, about 3 feet.. When do i start feeding the baby.. and what else do i need to do? I am new to hatching. Thanks

I usually take them away as soon as they are dry. I give them feed and water right away. Even if they do not need it at least they have it available. We also always give them a little colloidal silver, That helps boost the immune system incredibly!
