I have eggs in an incubator and today is day 10. Most of them show the obvious signs when I candle them. But I have a few where I can see some sort of shadow area that moves a bit, but no veins, dark spot or details.
Are these good eggs or a bad? I don't want to throw these out on the chance that there is a chick and I just can't see it very well.

Thanks

It sounds like they are infertile. You are probably seeing the yolk, however I would keep them in for a few more days just to be sure.

in my experience, all eggs of a breed set together will develop together. most surprises are because of inexperienced candling rather than sudden growth spurts.

if they are different breeds or from different suppliers or dark or green eggs then its worth waiting til day 10.

I'd keep them and see what happens...what can it hurt! I threw away 2 eggs yesterday because all the others had hatched and hen wasn't sitting on them anymore...big surprise when I heard peeping 7 hours later coming from the trash can! One of the 2 eggs had hatched in the trash can! Chick was fine and I stuck it under the hen! just checked an hour ago and all 10 chicks are fine! And so cute!

i never toss an egg that made it into lock down without eggtopsies that start with a gentle opening at the air cell to check viability but i do toss clears by day 12. An exploding stinker will spray bacteria all over your bator including into the fan, thermostat and the other eggs.
