One of my Barred Rock hens is laying down with labored breathing, head drooping. Shes under the coop and im trying to get her out. Looks listless.

gosh I'm sorry! I just had to deal with that from one of mine. Was she having runny poop before?

Hard to tell. Yes, running out of her vent. Weve been gone a week and the girl that watches the animals for us didn't mention anything strange.

It seemed respiratory. I think she couldn't breathe with liquid in her lungs. Time for some research.

So sorry for your loss definitely keep an eye out on the others to make sure they're not sick. If you notice anyone else acting weird, separate them so you don't loose the whole flock.
