Mazie is the girl that hangs with me most. As I type this she is sitting on my lap watching me type about her lol

All my chickens except my NH red enjoy being held and hang out (Sally my red is sweet just not into cuddles)

Mazie however is the first chicken I ever had that love to be patted like a dog and isn't jumpy and just loves to sit on my lap or arm of the chair

She's very pretty! I'm kinda jealous, all but one of my hens refuse to be touched lol.

I do spend a lot of time with my chickens from the time they hatch or I bring them home
I work from home so they are in their brooder in the same room with me for the first month and a half or so ..depending on size of chicken or weather

They get play time in the office while I am working and run around . Usually involves them jumping up on my desk.

Then when i finally bring them out i will spend a couple hours sitting in the pen with them so they get used to outdoors, I can keep an eye on them and making sure they don't get picked on by the bigger hens.

And once they are all set after a few weeks I still go and sit with them all for a while lol its relaxing to watch them

I am lucky that I have this time to do all that .. not everyone does.
