One of my chickens is missing!

To answer your questions about the lights, no they are not Christmas lights.

They are the small blinking red lights you see advertised in the Poultry magazines.

I got mine from NiteGuard...Saw them in BackYard Chicken mag.

They are solar powered, about 2" sq. They have a little hole on top so you can fasten them to a pole. I tie them around trees and fences.

I have several as I said. They really only work for nocturnal predators.

As I said, and I know many on the board are skeptical or don't think they work, but they have worked for me so far...eight years.

Again, ONLY for nocturnal animals.

Hope your sweetie returns.

She might not be dead after all could be getting broody. I had a rir hen disappear for about a month and then she returned.

My first clue to a predator getting a hen is usually some lost feathers somwhere in a pile where she was attacked.

Haven't found any feathers or anything yet. Maybe she's setting somewhere.

There are a lot of places around where she could be hiding.
