One of my ducks was taken by a hawk

My birds free range inside a little over a half acre fenced. I have lost some chickens but thank the Lord none of my water fowl. I would hate to have to pen mine up too. Do you have yours inside of a fence that helps some with predators. And those of us that do let ours have that freedom know we run the risk of losing some. Heart breaking but it’s a choice each one of us has to make for their flocks.

Ok, I'm just trying to be practical here. If your ducks were taken it's probably because they were free-ranging or had no cover overhead to protect them. That happened to me ONCE. ONCE! The next day I had netting overhead. Maybe that is not possible for you but it is the only way you can prevent this from happening again if you let them free range. I hope you will get them safe and undercover.
I am working on a bigger coop I'm not even supposed to have one so that's why this is happening to me. I'm fighting where I live for the ok to build it but im trying so hard to get it done. I've actually have a shed i i converted for them but I have so many that are coming from the neighborhood and I don't have the heart to not take care of them. People are so mean to them

Yes ma'am my yard is fenced and we have a pond also so if I didn't take in my homeless friends I think it wouldn't be so bad

Your in Florida and caring for the Muscovys?
Bless your heart! They know who cares for them. How many have you total?
Ok I have 7 and 13 duckling that are my originals. Then I have at least 10 to 15 that come throughout the day to eat and sleep by the kiddie pool I have for them because it's just to hot and I know they feel safe with me.

That’s very sweet of you. Makes sure to keep yours home so they don’t ever add to the feral population.
Yes ma'am I keep them home it's the Drake's that will take off sometimes. They do come home before it gets dark though.Theres so many here in my neighborhood and I'm so scared somebody is going to start doing something to hurt them. I just can't deal with that. I've seen terrible things already
