One of my females has been scalped

Mine did that too after getting attacked. I think she might be in shock. Just keep an eye on her. They stay really paranoid for a week too. So just keep on feeding her. Keep her at a good temperature. Not cold and not too hot just warm. She should be fine. Mine went the throught this 2 times in a row and she made it so yours should make it too!:) give her fresh veggies if you have any.

Well this morning she seem to be a little better again. Still very skittish but I did get her to come and eat some baby peas out of my hand. She's upstairs in the loft of my garage which is nice and warm and I put the heat lamp on for her at night. I think she's going to make it just not sure how she'll be excepted by the bonded pair. I think I have to wait till she's completely healed to make any introductions. My thought was to bring the pair up to her so that she looks like less of an intruder.

I'm glad she is improving. I agree that you should wait until she is healed to put her in the coop. For chickens I have read that it is easier to reintroduce back into the coop after dark when the others are roosting because it reduces the confrontation. I tried it with my 3 bachelor roosters when the first attempt resulted in kicking. They did better when they just woke up together.

I only have the 6 quail in total and I don't want any more. She has to either go back to the male with two hens or try and join the male with one hen which I think is my best bet. Since they don't roost I don't know if it would help to put them together at night. Also I want to be around to watch for any signs of fighting so I can remove her right away. She seems better again today. Her head has turned a disgusting blackish colour but I don't see any signs of infection. I really appreciate all your input. Thanks
