One of my hens is a roo - what do i do!

I think george is a girl too I don't have the same breed at you do BUT i had a questionable Brahma who turned out to be a roo and he looks SO different he has cornstalks for legs and his face is very masculine and george's tail shape come to a point but the feathers themselves are rounded now a single saddle feather where as my roo Goose he has obvoius saddle feathers...I wanted Goose to be a girl so bad he is the sweetest still young....but chatter box I have our Austrolorp hen has a silmilar tail to yours

Goose is a Light brahma and they take FOREVER to mature I saw one yesterday when I was picking up a new hen and the mans roo was a month older than mine and totally looked more ROO like then goose did....How old is george? Goose didn't get wattles or any of that til like 17 weeks...

If you look at his tail you can see the rounded feathers curling under and they have a colorful sheen to them those are more boyish feathers and you can tell by his legs and face he is just all boy...I'd wait it out a while george is lookin girly too me

Very handsome boy!!!
I have to take an update of his face.. it is actually beefing up and kind of squaring if that makes sense..... I am too inexperienced to understand a lot of terms used. Even though I have looked them up and looked at charts.... I will get it though.... Like - saddle - hackles etc.... George is 9 weeks old and his wattles came at 3-4 weeks old - my two others don't have any wattles...their combs are pink, his is red (not large at all though) He is probably a she that just is developing very differently i guess... Blondie has me confused with her tail structure... it is NOTHING like any of my chickens my Reds or BO....

Also is Georgie really friendly or kinda skittish....I heard that roos are more friendly when they are younger and pullets are more skittish so far I have found this VERY true I have 2 pullets a CW and a Austrolorp they are a pain in my hiney but Lacey is laying age and is oh so sweet and another who i got yesterday who is ticked at the world so we'll see once she lays for me how she is but Goose is oh so sweet as were my other roos that i already rehomed but they were bantam sized...if georgie is a roo can you keep him? I would if he is sweet you can still use your girls for just eggs but put them in the fridge as soon as their laid i have some that were fertalized can't tell the difference.

I would keep my boy goose but not roo's in the city...but he is super sweet

Yes, George is very sweet. When they all were 3-5 weeks old, George and Blondie were impossible to pick up or get near - they'd freak out and run all over the brooder. Now Blondie is VERY skittish, she will come over to me, but the minute i move she RUNS!!! George will come over and i talk with him, he takes food from me VERY gently (it is so cute! and nice not to have to worry about pulling back a stump!), and he lets me touch him. He is WAY more calm than the rest of them, and is always the first to try different foods. If i bring out a cucumber cut in half and hold it out at Blondie or even Olivia, they back off - George will stand there and look at it then dive in. I don't know how to explain it, he/she is just different in every way - but maybe he/she is just a camler, sweet hen.... I am going to try and take pictures of him today.... and post a follow my george's gender

It is too bad you can't keep your sweet roos....
