I have three hens and one of them is laying soft shell eggs. There is a lot of oyster shells for them. What else can i do?

If you aren't sure if they are eating the oyster shell, you can try grinding up some eggs with their shell and cooking them into scrambled eggs. Offering this will give them plenty of calcium, as well as vitamins and protein.
Could there be some reason she isn't absorbing calcium? Is she getting enough vitamin D?
Some chickens just seem more prone to laying shelless eggs then others.

Best of luck!

Is she a new layer? Often it takes a while to get the kinks out of the egg laying equipment, as time goes on, she should start producing normal eggs.

She has been laying for a few months and she did lay four good eggs at one time about a month ago. Since then all we have got are soft eggs. They are not on layer because there are two 15 weeks old. They still have three weeks til they can have layer.

One of my hens occasionally lays soft shelled eggs, i was quite worried at first but i think i will put it down to stress of change (3 new chicks in the flock and an extention of their pen). I hope that's all it is. What are you feeding them if not Layers? my two week old chicks are eating Layers and crumb, the mother hens give the layers to the chicks. I can't stop the chicks from eating Layers as they are with the hens.

The chicks are in a separate pen. And i am feeding calcium and meat bird because the two new hens we have are a littlw under weight. No layer feed intil 3 weeks dfrom now because i have younger hens that arent lating yet.
