One of my hens is lethargic and seems to be going in and out of sleep and not eating

I noticed it this morning and after reading some of the symptoms of being egg bound I thought it could be if since all the hens insist on laying in the same next box despite having one each, so I bathed her in warm water for 20 mins but nothing's happened she doesn't seem to be doing the penguin like squat though and her abdomen doesn't feel particularly hard compared to one of the other hens, her crop is fine too, she hasn't ate today I syringe fed her electrolytes is there anything else I could do or does anyone know what might be wrong? They were wormed about 6 weeks ago and are being fed layers with mixed grain and occasionally dried mealworms

Hi, she's almost 2, I think she may have had runny poop since her backside was a bit mucky when I gave her the bath, her feet feel like normal temperature, I'm not sure of the last time she laid either unfortunately I've been really busy this week and only really noticed this morning, after watching some info videos of egg bound hens I think it could be that but she's not eating or drinking I tried giving her electrolytes in a syringe but she wasn't swallowing it, I don't have any calcium tablets or anything I have oyster shell grit but she isn't eating so she won't take it, I put some vegetable oil in her vent and gave her abdomen a massage I couldn't feel an egg in the vent I didn't go in far though I'm worried I'll have to try and break the egg and syringe it it sounds dangerous

I'm gonna look and see what I can find. I have seen people say if you thinkit's egg bound to stick your fingerin the vent about 1 1/2" and see if you can feel anything.

Ok thanks, I don't have any in the house just anti acids and rennies, I wouldn't be able to get any tums tonight it'd be tomorrow morning

If you cannot feel an egg if you inserted a finger into her vent an inch or two, then she may not be egg bound. I would try to get her drinking some water with electrolytes. You can substitute 1 teaspoonful of sugar and a small pinch of salt into a liter of water for electrolytes.

She could have any number of things going on at her age. Reproductive problems such as internal laying could be possible. Feel her crop to see if it is full and firm or puffy, and if it empties by morning. Look her ocer around and under her vent for lice or mites. Feel of her lower belly between her legs for enlargement.

Ok after some research I agree that she is egg bound.
It is suggested to give her a bath (as you did).
Give her calcium (which your gonna get)
Keep her in a dark place.
Massage her abdomen.
