One of my hens is lethargic and seems to be going in and out of sleep and not eating

Ok after some research I agree that she is egg bound.
It is suggested to give her a bath (as you did).
Give her calcium (which your gonna get)
Keep her in a dark place.
Massage her abdomen.

Let me know if you feel an egg?

I went out to check her this morning and she had died through the night so annoyed at myself for not noticing it earlier maybe I could have helped

I am so sorry that you lost her. Since you did not feel an egg inside, I really think that she died of something else, possibly egg yolk peritonitis or a blockage in her crop or gizzard. Chickens her age can commonly have reproductive problems. If you still have her body, I would refrigerate it in a plastic bag. You can contact your state vet for a necropsy, or if not, try doing one at home to look for a cause of death. Many things can be visible when looking at organs. Take pictures if you do one, for any help here. Here is a list of state vets and poultry labs with contact info:
