one of my laying hens is eating feathers she finds on the ground

does anybody know what to solve this with or if its even a problem at all and if it is a problem what should I do I would appreciate any help.

They eat feathers all the time, it's not a problem. If it's going on a lot you might want to try upping the protein in the diet a little. If they are on a layer feed, which is usually 16% protein, try an all flock or flock raiser in the 18-20% protein range. You will need to make sure you have oystershell out in another feeder all the time as those feeds don't add it.
Feathers are pretty much protein.

Thanks It's not going on often. I noticed only a few hens were eating one or 2 feathers it was going on a little last week but they are not doing it as much anymore.
