One of my RIR chicks has a much larger comb than the other, does this mean it's a roo?

Would it mean anything if when this one is running, jumping, and playing with the others, it jumps and kicks both legs forward? It's the only one that does that, the others jump at each other face first. I'l try and get it on video in slomo sometime. It's legs are about the same size as the others but it's also the smallest bird too
All young chicks will spar to establish the pecking order. I find little roosters are more forward than pullets and will often approach my hand more readily.

What I mean is this one spars differently, it jumps and leans back and kicks when it spars as opposed to the others who get in each others faces and peck/chest bump. It's also always the first one to my hand. I wish I could get it on video for you but they don't spar very often at all and when they do it's only for a second or two

There is a good chance it is a boy but only time will tell. So please take this with a grain of salt - don't want to mislead you.

You got it. So I guess my best bet is to hold off on buying a baby roo until I'm sure this one isn't a roo. It was sexed and sold as a female but I'm sure mistakes can be made at the hatchery there. Thanks everyone for confirming that I'm not crazy. For now I'll have to play the waiting game. That comb is getting bigger almost every day though, so hopefully I'll know for sure in a week or two.

Yep, he or she is always trying to be the most adorable out of the bunch! The comb is bigger and redder today!

what a sweetheart, he (she) wonders why he can't see through the sides like he used too. Shows a lot of intelligence & curiosity.Hope it is a cockerel for you but, wish you would keep it regardless. What a charmer!! :love

I'll be keeping it regardless. If these are all female, I'll get another roo and 2 more hens, and when the hens are of age to enter a flock, the two hens will go to my girlfriends flock, and the rooster will stay here
