One of our chickens doesn't cluck - she screeches!

I have a NHR that honks like a geese all.....day....long. Screeches, honks, weird sing songey noises...she never stops.

I have an EE hen named Honky for this very reason...she sounds like she is part goose. She is also the smallest in the flock, and bottom of the pecking order, but manages to be the loudest hen. Hug therapy works quite well on her, she loves to cuddle, and will shove her head into your shirt sleeve to get comfy.

I have 3 BR hens and they do a weird screechy growl. They don't sound normal, lol. I have one who is my buddy, Will FLY out of the coop if she hears my coming, will do her growl at my feet and Ill pick her up and cuddle her and she will softly growl to me like she is "talking" or telling me a story. Its so cute. It is weird and sounds like she is ****** but Im guessing it is just their clucking. They do it even louder before and after egg laying. Never heard the normal egg song from them as of yet.

robinwiththechickens, my girl sounds just like yours! Except that my little one is a bit more afraid of cuddling than yours!
