more like an over bite to the side. she seems to be the same size as the others from her group but i was wondering if we should do something about it? maybe keep the food loose and not in pellet form?

I got an EE that was that way as a chick. I chose to let her be. The feed store even gave me another chick because he said she wouldn't live. Well she made it about 5 months before she died. At first her beak was just a little sideways. Then as she got bigger we noticed it went to the side more and more, we figured it was from pecking at the ground. So I started taking her up to the house with me at feeding time & just setting her in the feed bag. It worked really well for a long time cuz as she pecked she only hit the feed & would fill her craw in the same note. There is a pic or two of her on our BYC page. She was the MOST loveable chicken I've had thus far though!

No overbite. Her top and bottom beaks even together. Is noticeably crooked tho:(

Backdoorchicken I love your avatar. Zippy was perfectly beaked until 10 weeks old and now at 15 weeks she is severely cross beaked. She can't pick up a lot of things but can eat her food and when I give them watermelon or tomatoes I cut tehm into pieces that she can grasp and swallow. They are about 3/4 inches long and between a quarter and a half inch wide and a quarter inch thick. She is the only chicken I have that knows her name and she depends on me to feed her treats. Mealworms are hard though. I am trying mealworms and sunflower sprinkled on top of a small dish of yogurt so she can dive all the way in and get them.

Won't worry bout it if it won't die from it. Still absolutely adorable. Have 2 splash silkies 4 weeks old and
they both look like little balls of fluff already. 1 with crooked beak always comes 2 me wen I point at it. Don't name them wen theyr that young in case they die.
Me and my husband have btween us bout 80 to 90 chickens. And 6 guineas. Some to eat and some for eggs.
Wantd my silkies to help hatch eggs later on cause I herd theyr good bout it.
