I just looked back in on mine, and OMG in 90 minutes 6 more have hatched, 2 more left and they are trying to catch up fast.

this is awesome - so MUCH MUCH MUCH quicker than any chicks I've every hatched!

its illegal to keep without a license, or being a certified rehabber. However mine are supposed to be taken by local rehabbers as well through fish and game, but since I have rehabbed for them before - and have gone through classes though not certified, and with the fact they have told me that they only have maybe 2 people that could take them and 1 just got some other poults... I am not holding my breath - I am likely going to be told to rehab them myself or given a license through them to be able to keep them - I am on the phone right now with someone right now.... I will know by Friday evening if I am keeping them or they are going to keep their word and take these cuties off my hands.

they will be going to a wildlife rehaber prob fri or sat.they are in the same town so we are hoping they will let us stop in a see rhem from time to time.

Nice. I've only seen my yellow baby Royal Palm/Mutts. The dark ones look a lot like giant Coturnix quails at this stage.

so its started : called about taking them to a rehabber My response : " Oh well we haven't been able to get in contact with our other rehabber who has gamebird and poultry experience, and our senior rehab partner just has taken in another clutch of baby turkeys. You should be able to handle taking care of them for a few days right? (Me : "Yes sir, bu-..." ) Well I will be sure to get someone to give you a call on Friday, hopefully we can get in touch with Richie (rehabber) by then."

I knew it - given the run around : so I'm banking money on I am going to be raising them - not that I really mind - except this bites into my plans to raise some ducks as the turkeys are going to need the large brooder/enclosure for the next month or two. *sigh*

edited to add : All my 9 have hatched and are pretty much dried out - the last 2 laggers are still a bit wet. they are remaining in the bator until about 9 tonight then I will stick them in teh brooder I just plugged up to get good and warm.
