One or two wing clip???

I have always clipped one wing - my coop is large and free range but my neighbors aren't keen on their garden being eaten. I had one Houdini hen who could still get over a 6ft fence with one clipped wing. My husband read a thing saying one wing still gives 'lift' and the chicken can adapt but two wings means stability but no lift. Sure enough she now has not escaped. The more I look the more things contradict each other. Now we have added Hamburgs to our flock. I know they are definitely going to get over without a wing clip so one or two wings. What does everyone think or experienced? Thank you.

My experience is that clipping two wings still allows flight especially if the bird is light weight. Even with wings clipped it is amazing how high the birds can jump.
