Hi all,

One of my hens, the most skiddish one has one very puffy swollen face in one side only , she is the one really stressful to catch so I am wondering if there is anything I can do for her from a respectful distance. She is eating , drinking, pooping and laying normally , its been a couple of days. I don't see any signs of an injury, and not sure what I am looking at or should be looking at, any input/ help is much appreciated.
Thank you for any input

If you could wait until she is on the roost at night, sneak up on her with a light, red preferrably, and look for any bubbles or foam in the eye, and nasal drainage. Does she have any sneezing? She may have been pecked or stung, but certain respiratory diseases such as MG, can look like that. If you suspect MG infection, Tylan 50 given orally or Tylosin powder for the water are good for treatment. Here is some reading on MG:

I will look, her nose and eyes seem fine, she is not sneezing or showing any respiratory issues. She is so shy and wont be let on the roost at night so its quite possibly she got pecked i just cant visibly see any signs. thank you for your response, its so helpful to get any insight
