Hello,

So this morning after not getting any eggs on Friday or Saturday, I received 1 rubbery egg and 1 LG brown egg from my 1 chicken who is laying. Does this happen a lot with ISA Browns that just started laying? She's been laying these kinds of eggs since she started laying which was September 11th. She's 16 weeks old. We started getting hard shells, now we get Rubbery ones and hard ones?

I give them Purina Organic Layer Crumble (attached nutritional info on here), water with their Poultry Nutri Drench (attached nutritional info on here), and Purina Organic Scratch Grains (also attached here the nutritional information). Their coop is ALWAYS very clean (I am very picky with how clean I keep their coop).

Just want to know if it is normal.

hi! I’m a new chicken owner, my girls are 16, almost 17 weeks, no eggs yet! Are you giving oyster shell/grit too? From what I’ve learned so far for the hard shells they need that. I just started feeding my girls the Nutrena 16 layer feed and crushed oyster shell in a separate tray. I also read that it’s common for new layers to be inconsistent in frequency and quality in the beginning. Dont know if that helps you any but hopefully one of these amazing experienced flock owners here will help you more.

I am going to put oyster shells into a different container and let them pick at it that way. I do give them scratch and started mixing oyster shells in with the scratch. :) thank you!

Yes.
....and maybe cut out the scratch altogether.
I actually put the oyster shells into a container by themselves and she laid a NORMAL EGG TODAY! I add crickets and meal worms to the scratch fingers crossed! :) nice large brown egg. Got a nice LG brown egg yesterday too!
