McDonalds french fries. They might eat a little of the drier pieces, but the soft, greasy ones they won't mess with after their first taste. A rotten tomato seems to be a delicacy though. Go figure.

Mine love fries. Maybe it's an acquired taste?

Huh. Maybe it is an aquired taste, 'cause mine have attacked and devoured french fries, lol. My four year old is always asking if she can give the chickens some of what she is eating.

The cockatiel loves them, too.

Sadly, it seems like more and more fast food franchises are using so called "healthy cooking oil". My son brought home some fried chicken from a national chain that was cooked "healthy," and I couldn't eat it. It was just tasteless. I told him not to bring it home again.

It makes you wonder when chickens won't eat the fries and the flies won't land on fake sugar, what am I doing eating this stuff?

I am sorry, but I think the secret to good cooking is salt and bacon grease. If you think this diet will shorten my life, well I am already older than the hills.

I save my bacon grease to cook other stuff in all the time. I've been eating bacon and 3 eggs almost every single morning for the past 25 years. If it kills me at 70 instead of 80, so what?

Like another poster said too, if bugs won't touch the fake sugar (or *ANY* of the 'diet' drinks), and the foods cooked with so-called 'healthy' oils and whatever are tasteless nastinesses, then it wasn't meant to be eaten by anything that has functioning brain cells.

LOL. Before I was mostly-vegetarian I cooked everything in bacon grease. Yum yum!

It depends on what "healthy" oils they are using. Most fast food places use canola oil, which is cheap and doesn't taste like much of anything. Chinese restaurants use peanut oil instead, which IMO tastes awesome. When I used to make oven-fried chicken, if I didn't have butter, I used peanut oil, and it came out pretty good. I never liked KFC though, the chicken was always stringy and dried out. Homemade buttermilk-soaked chicken, oven-fried in butter with just a touch of black pepper, nutmeg and garlic or onion powder in the dipping flour, mmmmmm.

Whether they are crispy or soggy depends on how hot the cooking oil is. If you get the first batch of fries of the day, they're usually soggy because the fry-o-lator isn't quite up to temperature before they start throwing bags of frozen fries in there.

Ahem. Sorry for the thread drift. Anyway, my chickens decided they don't like salmon. Which kind of sucks, because I eat a lot of salmon and end up with leftovers, and now nobody will eat them.

Haha, funny story. I have a green sunfish called "meat fish" that eats meat. Well, he's a smart fish and knows what's good and what's spoiled as he'll spit out meat if it's sat in the fridge for more than a day or so. My mom was eating some left overs, gave him a piece, he sucked it in, spit it out and went back to his corner.... My mom promptly threw out the left overs and was worrying about the piece she just ate for the whole day.

If the animals won't eat it... something is wrong with it.

My birds like fries though. I think each flock of chickens has their food preferences which is pretty cool.

I had a dog that wouldn't eat fries till everyone at the table had finished thier burger, and he refused to eat a McDonalds Filet Of Fish, he traveled with me all the time and McDonalds had Filet of fish on sale so I bought him one he turnd his nose up at it, there was a girl that worked there watching and brought out a 1/4 pounder for him and said she didn't like the fish either. It wasn't because he wasn't hungry because he ate the 1/4 pounder with no problems then wanted his fries.
