Hi all,
I got my chicks 2 weeks and one day ago. Boy are they fun. They are growing like weeds. Well, except one. I have one Easter egger that has very tiny legs to match her tiny body. She is growing feathers, but is a little small and way too mild mannered for her age. (I hope I'm wrong about that. I'll post a pic with her next to my polish of the same age. She is a sweet girl and is my favorite. I'm just wondering if I should be worried and what I can do to keep her healthy. I'm not worried about having a small chicken, just her health

Hmmmm she doesn't look to have Easter egger markings to me...could be a different breed? Perhaps a bantam?

Someone else will surely be able to weigh in and provide more clarification :)

I agree that it appears health, so may just be younger or a smaller variety.

When I got my chicks they were all supposed to be about the same age. It was a mix of Rhode Island Red, Barred Plymouth Rock, Easter Eggers and Buff Orpington. The BO were smaller than everyone else and continued to be smaller until recently. They are now about 4 months old. They are the 2 pale yellow chicks in the photo.

Could be an EE; the legs do look greenish in the photo. I have bantam EEs from Cackle and they are adorable! EEs can be any color, including white. Enjoy! Mary
Thanks for the reply.
She's still eating and drinking. Just very timid and tiny. She was the same size as the rest of my ees when they came. Could it be possible for her to be a bantam that got mixed in by mistake? I am not sure if they are all the same size at birth. She is my favorite one out of 19 so I pray she stays ok

Just make sure that she's able to get to the food and water without being chased away, and see how she develops. If you are in doubt, add another feeder and waterer, if there's enough room. You can just scatter feed on the bedding so there's always something available for everyone. Mary
