and I love it! My flock is 2 Blue laced red wyandottes, 1 black copper maran, 1 gold sex link, 1 dominique, 1 barred rock and 2 australorps. From the get go the dominique has had the best personality. She is the smallest and most curious.

I do have a question i am hoping someone can answer. I was told that I will have one hen that will not produce any eggs because she will be at the top of the pecking order...hopefully that makes sense....has anyone heard of this? Thanks in advance for any info!

GOD BLESS!!!

WELCOME!!!

You have quite the assortment of chicks there.

And I've never heard of a hen not laying because it's at the top of the pecking order.

Hens will slow down laying during the shorter winter days or they'll stop laying while they're brooding on eggs, but I've never heard of the pecking order thing.

Perhaps someone else can shed some light.

Again,

Hi and :welcome

Glad to have you here!
No, I haven't ever heard of a hen not laying because of pecking order.
Even my "top" hen, who used to act like a rooster in more ways than one :)lol:) laid eggs.
