[/4-1/2 weeks old now.

Not in the same order, some of them I can't tell apart. The two little sicilians, well I was sure I had two roosters for a long time, now I ain't so sure. One of them has real big red whattles and comb, the second has whattles and comb much smaller and much lighter in color. What do you guys make of'em.

These here, I am pretty sure the white one is a rooster, that fuzzy speckled thing I have no idea. It does not have any whattles and very little comb.

These black guys, two of them are very large with brown mottled feathers on their necks. the other two are small and resemble BR markings slightly.

I know last time I had 9 to show, but I had a massacre, one dead three injured. In fact one of the small black ones (#7) is missing two toes on the same foot. He is keeping up with the other, and the are not pecking him, so I am going to give him a chance. Today I replaced the two that died with two production red pullets, purchased from the local feed store. thay are sold as day old chicks put they were feathered out and the guy that waorks the loading dock said they had been there about 3 weeks.

I honestly can't tell either.

In the next few weeks I will post'em up again. Unfortunately I can't tell the two small black ones and the two large black ones apart. Maybe next time I will be more careful with the pictures and they might help us out.

#1 and #2 like I had said, I thought they were both roosters, and they still both might be roosters. But #1 has a comb and whattles twice as large as #2.

My opinion for the record.

#1, #4, #6, roosters

#2, #5, #7, #8 hens

#3 I ain't got no idea, never had no chicken like that

rule of thumb... at 4.5 weeks old, if it has waddles.. it's a rooster.

I think that #1 #2 and most likely #4 are roosters.. not sure about the rest.

Hey Guys,

Got a question for ya'll.

Could chick #3 be a LIGHT BRAHMA?

I was cruising through the hatchery websites when I came across the picture and description of a Light Brahma at Cackle. Well chick #3 sure matches the description. Heavy in weight, feathers on legs and toes.

All this time I figure chick #3 was a cochin of some sort, but she was growing way faster than anything else. At this point I'd say she was 25% heavier than the little sicilian roosters, but not quite as big as #6.

Okay not quite a week since the last pictures, tomorrow would be a week. I have to go in and work a set of day shifts, so no pics tomorrow. That's just like a steady job, sure gets in the way of having fun and fishing trips sometimes, don't it!

First up are the two little sicilian buttercups. They are cute little buggers, small but cute. #1 and #2 well I am officially calling it, both roosters. #2's comb and whattles have caught up to #1. Really pretty birds, wild as all get out too!

#3 Well I still don't have an idea as to sex, looks like a pullet. But this is a BIG GIRL and heavy too! Pretty much decided that this thing must be a light brahma, first time I have ever seen one except in pictures.

#4 Just your basic white chicken rooster, he started out being the biggest of the bunch, but some of the others have passed him by.

#5 Pretty sure I got'em in the right order. Breed unknown, few flecks in the feathers, little bit of white on the wings. I am calling this one a pullet.

#6 I can't tell, but I am thinking it's got to be a rooster judging by size alone. Large feets, fair size comb and a little bit of whattles. Breed, I need some help on that, most have coomented that this and EE.

#7 This is the one with only two toes on his left foot. Lost the other toes in a coon/rat attack 10 days ago. Getting around good, seems as if he is going to make it. Calling this one a rooster.

#8 This guy looks much the same as #5, calling it a pullet. No sign of whattle and very little bit of comb. Small feets and legs.

These last two guys are suppose to be pullets. Production reds, I bought them last week to replace the flip over loss and the attack victim. They are about 10 days behind the other 8 but I have no had any problem putting them in the cage with the others.
