\~ * >One Will Reign< * ~/ a wild horse role-play

~Paytah met his eyes, completely unperturbed by the other stallion's blatant defiance. "What kind of a burro-heart are you?" Paytah spat, his ears pinned to his skull and teeth bared. "What do you seek in trying to take Sun-Soak field?" He suddenly lunged off of his hindquarters and barreled into Smoke, muzzle snapping with an abrupt ferocity at any skin he could reach. There was no consideration taken into the retaliation Paytah would inevitably receive. "Send your herd back to the mountains, rock-hoof!"~

Smoke snorted abruptly as Paytah rammed into him, then fell to his knees, to trip his long legged opponent. He stood up almost completely underneath the stallions belly. "Burro-heart, eh?" He neighed, "oh, well, I suppose one of you high strung uprunner horses wouldn't understand how valuable a burro can be in a fight" he rumbled, glancing over at Inferno.

~Macawi leapt out from the shadows, her dark eyes flaming with domineering superiority, and slammed into Misae, completely ignoring the fact that there was a full-grown stallion with her. "Don't come back, coward!" she trumpeted, pounding her front legs brutally into the other filly's flank. "Sun-Soak field belongs to Mountain Herd from now on!!"~

Misae squealed, at first with fright, but then her eyes took on a new gleam. The bloodthirsty spark of a rogue. She reared on her hind legs, and balanced there for what seemed like hours before letting loose with a full battle cry that echoed through the territories.
Hinto spun around as his Yearling crashed down into a young Mountain herd filly, the whites of his eyes shining like Fawn spots. " Misae, enough! I'm not waiting for you!" He whinnied, as he wheeled and bolted.

~
Flood froze and wheeled around. "What - WHO was that!" He nickered in shock at the enraged shriek he had just heard. "Otaktay! Come with me!" He neighed, as he turned and galloped toward sun soak field.

~Paytah stumbled backward, off-balance, roaring with indignation. How is he doing this???? I'M TALLER AND MORE POWERFUL- YET HE'S WINNING!!!! Paytah reared up again, suspended for an interminable time; his movements becoming expected, he slammed into Smoke's flank with all the force he could fling into his hooves. My herd has left me. I'm left here, fighting ALONE for everything I know.~ (So much for Valley Herd's tenacious loyalty. *~*)

~Macawi glared up at her, unfazed by her cry of ringing defiance. She scuttled backward, her hooves spinning up a storm of whirling dust, as the larger year-long crashed back down. Something had just audibly and tangibly snapped within the yearling, and to the keen Macawi, it was blindingly obvious. "I don't know what just happened to you," she snorted, her dark eyes swirling with consternation, "but go."~

~Otaktay plunged into a thrumming sprint and leapt into Flood's wake, his ears ringing with the resound of a cry of defiance.
A shriek of broken toleration.
A screech of rebellion.
The burro kept pace with the larger stallion, his hooves hitting the ground twice for every time Flood's hoof found purchase. The dense forest began to gradually thin out, signalling that they were already nearing Sun-Soak Field. We've found our newest recruit.
And it's basically already recruited itself.~

Flood slowed to a silent walk as he neared the battle. In the middle of the field, two stalllions were entirley focused on eachother, with a few mountain herd horses still lingering as they drove off theor opponents. His calm, wise gaze turned and settled on the lanky pinto at the edge of the field. He instantly recognized the rage outlined in her young muscles, the wild light that sparked behind her eyes. "That's her" he snorted.
~
Misae's hooves slammed into the dark forest soil. She raised her head, flagged her tail, and began to prance around Macawi, her long legs working slowly, steadily, balancing her lithe frame for a breif moment before she set them down. Giving her opponent no time for a reaction, her long neck snaked out and her bright white teeth flashed. There was now blood flowing slowly from Macawi's shoulder. Misae watched with pleasure as the wound pulsed with each heartbeat, then wheeled around and took off after Hinto, satisfied with herself.
~
Flood stood in awe at the evil genius of the young horse. "Such control!" he breathed. Then raced off to intercept the young mare, slidding his powerful body in front of her.
Misae skidded to an abrupt halt, then reared and slammed her hooves into Flood's gleaming hide.
~
Flood laughed. "You fought well, yearling" he nickered calmly, turning to face her.
~
Misae crouched, her head lowered and her ears pinned, her heart still thudding with the thrill of battle. "I am not afraid of you" she snorted, swishing her tail in defiance.
~
"Good, I never wanted you to be" Flood replied, raising his head. "Otaktay" he called, "Come, what do you think of her?"

Smoke smiled inwardly, as the smell of fear briefly hit his nose. "You are alone, Paytah" he murmured wryly, knowing that the fight was his now. "I have already won."

~Paytah peeled back his lips and an eerie, unnerving screech shot into the air- the likes of something that would normally be emitted by a fox. "I'll never give up," he snorted, dark eyes sparking with clear tenacious determination. "Not until I die." He pranced in a wide circle around Smoke, tail flagged in a high arch of obvious defiance. If he wants to fight with words, let him. I fight with action.~
(Smoke, now'd be a good time to somehow defeat him without totally proving he's a weakling. ;) )

(Hmmmmmm......)

Smoke stomped his hoof, flinging a clod of dirt behind him towards Paytah's feet. He flagged his thick, wirey tail and arched his muscular neck, his bristly mane standing almost straight up. He stood, statue still, and suddenly flung out his hind leg and nailed Paytah's hi, smiling with satisfaction as he looked back and saw an almost perfect hoof shape set squarely on the joint.
