Hello, I have a one year old Americana that is not laying! She stopped laying last fall after we had a predator get into the coop and make off with another one of our hens. This happened in late November, so I was uncertain if she stopped laying due to the attack or due to the days shortening. Either way I figured she would start laying again in the spring but she hasn't! Any ideas?
For more background information - Last fall I had two Americanas and two Leghorns. The leghorns were "rescues" from a farm and have never laid for me. My second Americana was the one taken by the predator. This spring I got two Novogens pullets to add to the flock. Both Novogens are laying daily.
