When you say you need to improve the penciling in the blue partridge, is the pattern not there, or weak on parts of the body ?

Don't think splash is a possibility. Gold partridge cock over Blue partridge hens. I didn't breed any of the blue partridge cockerels or the gold pullets before they were killed by the dogs. My intention was to have one pen with gold male/blue females and another with blue male/gold females but I didn't get to that point. I'm almost positive that my original eggs came from the same breeding, gold over blue (although there may have been some gold over gold there) because my hatch was pretty much 50/50, gold/blue. 100% positive that the father of my original eggs was gold, but not sure about whether all of the females were blue, may have been some gold or even a splash in there. I haven't gotten any splash though, but probably could breed some since I'm pretty sure I'll have a blue cockerel in the chicks and I already have some blue pullets. What was the breeding on the blues ? Any chance of splash in your youngsters ?
The pattern is very light and weak. Some of that is fading from the sun, but some is inherent in the feather. I'll try to get a picture this afternoon of the older pullet. The feathers that are coming back after the dog attack are coming in better than her first year feathers, but still the pattern is not quite right. I'll get a picture so that you can see and I'll get both her old feathers and her new feathers. I think we've talked about their patterns before.....but then again I may have just thought about talking about it. That is what old age is doing to me.When you say you need to improve the penciling in the blue partridge, is the pattern not there, or weak on parts of the body ?
Is this a dark brahma with blue introduced from blue partridge or splash blue partridge brahma? I've seen this breed referred to as blue silver brahma. I have several pullets/hen in this color and working on a pure cockerel. I believe I have one from a dark/blue silver cross but his blue is not as nice as yours. If we're talking about the same breed I would love to get tips on how to improve my blue in the males. The blue in my females (blue partridge and blue silver) is getting very nice, but not in the males.
