Hi! So, this has been an ongoing debate in our hen house. This baby was born near the end of June. I think it might be an amberlink? Not entirely sure. We got it from a group of eggs hatched at my son’s school. Is this a roo or hen??? I have to mention that he/she likes to crow, sit on top on the coop, and is the most aggressive of the group. I do know that it could still be a hen with rooster-like qualities though. I don’t have any more of this breed to compare. The other babies were Rhode Island Red pullets. They are all around the same age though, and I noticed the wattle is bigger on this baby than the RIR babies. Thoughts??? No one can agree. Lol 😵‍💫

Thank you!! I think it’s definitely a mix. I think cockerel too, but it’s been a big debate, for sure.
Your welcome!
Definite cockerel. I agree you might have a mutt, but Amberlink also doesn't seem impossible. I don't have that much experience with breed determination.
I don't think it's an Amberlink, not the right coloring, plus they don't have feathered legs, and he does have feathered legs right? It's a bit hard to see.

It does have some random feathers on its feet, doesn’t cover all of it though. It is very strange. Lol Not shocked at all about it being a mixed breed.
