oh, I love the name Poseidon! Here is my son's girl, Sophie. He adopted her to be a pal to his 1/2 Husky 1/2 Shepherd dog, Ghost. She has issues, is very timid, hates her hindquarters messed with at the vet (probably artificially inseminated at some point), but isn't she pretty? View attachment 1293901

Oh goodness she is adorable! And that face.... she just looks like she is sayin leave.me.alone. Lol!

We picked he name because we were lookin for a fittin name for his size.... the greek god poseidon was not only the god of water but also of earthquakes. So it kinds just fit... plus we had a kane and thor already lol!

Aw, it fits him! I can see a big Brahma rooster named Poseidon, too. The ground does shake when my big rooster runs, LOL. I call him and his hens the "Brahm-elephants".

The Confidence Quilter, that's Singer, right? That one has a fairly small throat space, doesn't it? And you're doing king size on that? I'm impressed!

Thanks! It's not perfect, but it's handmade and if you could have seen how I did at the beginning, it's a major improvement, LOL. I love many of her designs, but I don't have all the nifty machines she has, of course. I want a table so my machine can drop down and the surface is level with the presser foot plate, no hanging off at all. But, maybe some day.
I have that go-round finished and had to quit for the day. My back hurts now after being at it on and off all day long. Not sure what the next round will be, maybe meandering leaves, one of Angela Walters' designs.

I do think I need to do more hand quilting in the center to match up better with the density of the machine quilting, but I can do that later.

You are too hard on yourself.... I love it! The blocks you added to finish it to the dimensions you needed worked out great. Add me to the list of those who vote that irregularities are what make quilts special... The quilting certainly doesnt need to be perfect to give the right 'impression'.

Thank you, Karen. I think that hand quilting is special, and I can do it very well, however, there is no way I can turn out projects with the speed that machine quilting allows (state the obvious, eh?).

And if you like irregularities, you absolutely love my quilts, LOL!

Correction: I am calling this round "Raggedy Winter Windblown Leaves", LOL. Definitely not as easy as it looks. Maybe if I had a larger throat space, but maybe that has zero to do with my difficulty with this one. I can just do all my future quilts in paisley and loop-de-loops. Yes, sounds like a plan. :hmm

Oh, do you like Tula Pink fabrics? You'll laugh, but I thought it was just the name of a line of fabrics, had no idea until yesterday that it was an actual person's name! LOL. I'm not sure I really like them. They're so darn busy! But, a quilt full of them keeps you interested in finding everything that's in them, I guess.

I am with you on the tula pinks. But. I keep seein them and they are growin on me... so much that i have been lookin at patterns for a friend of mine and thinkin oh gah this would be super cute in tula fabrics. Hahahahah. I.am.doomed! I think they would look ahmazing in a one hit wonder block quilt for some reason.

Haha yes the brahma! We have one and buddy when he hops off the roost it is LOUD!

I have put a few kings through it.... it was NOT fun and straight lines but i did get it done. Yes it is a singer. I had the torture in fl of bein able to rent time on a long arm.... a by toryure i mean it was wonderfully torturous to ever have to use my lil singer ever again for quiltin. Lol! Absolutely LOVED workin on a LA! My auntie wants to buy me one cause she says i do so much for everyone else but never for myself. Right now my sewin room is not big enough for a la but when we get the screen room windowed in THAT will be my sewin room and it does have room for one. :). But i really havent decided if i am ok with Auntie buyin me a machine like that kwim? That is a LOT of dollar bills to let her spend on me even though i know she can and would happily do it for me. So i dunno. But i do know that i would adore one!

I am thinkin bout hand quiltin this one. I am makin it for the church’s fall festival auction in uhhh oct. I keep envisioning baptist fans for it for some reason. But i just cannot decide if the time spent on hand quiltin it will bring anymore moolah for the church. Or if i just want to sent this one off to the quilter for her to work her majiks and be done with it. Then hand quilt a beautiful old top i found at a thrift store here that is in excellent shape and would be lovely on our bed lol! But then i think hamd quiltin plus dogs on my bed.... ahhhh newp! So i jus dunno.

How nice of her! I'd be hesitant, too, but such a nice offer. That blue quilt with the stars is very pretty!
