When I was browsing machines, I saw one that had 30% bigger bobbins than their other machines. Unfortunately it was on the top-of-the-range machine that cost an absolute fortune. You'd need to remortgage your house to get some of these machines. :D
It's interesting that the basic design of domestic sewing machines is exactly the same as it was when they were invented, needle goes in, picks up thread from a bobbin. Exactly the same as my almost 100-yr-old singer treadle.

That is so true! Then, you add bells and whistles and it can even just about make you coffee in the morning and yet, needle goes in, picks up thread from a bobbin, etc.

I've noticed that Bernina does not make a straight stitch machine. It's like the cadillac of machines, yet, I think even on some of their fancy machines, the feed dogs do not drop like on mine. You have to change the plate to cover the feed dogs. Seems a bit clunky to me, really. Even the Janome 1600P, the sister machine to mine has a darning plate that you have to put on to do free motion quilting. My Brother PQ1500s has four feed dog positions with the turn of a lever.

I have decided my next quilt is a double Irish Chain for me, I've made several but they went to family members.

GD hasn't brought me T shirts to start her quilt yet. I found a wonderful yardage of a batik hanging in my fabric/batting closet that will be a perfect focus fabric. OK, so need to finish my paddle star first.

I am almost done with one end row of the smaller star blocks, will probably get part of the other end done today as well, if my back holds out.

Well, here she is, quilting all done. I am going to make a pillow cover from that little 18" block I made from the cut off star point yardage. I saw videos on how to put in a zipper on the backing for a pillow cover and it didn't look all that difficult. I got two zippers from the thrift store for 25 cents each, one spring green and one yellow so either would work.
I'll run what Leah Day calls a victory lap around the outer border of the quilt then find something for the binding, but my customer is not in a rush for the quilt so I can take my time. I'm going to try another new thing, binding entirely by machine, on my Carpenter's Star twin quilt I finished before this one. Then, maybe it won't be such a trial getting binding on this much larger quilt. Maybe. We'll see.

That turned out beautiful!

I like everything about it!

Getting all that quilted looks like a ton of work.
You have my admiration.
