I can't speak for the originator of this thread, but, I would think that "mixed" breeds are ok, so long as they're a mixed breed someone would want (like a frizzle), and not just "barnyard mix".

So are the reds Silkies or Sizzles since they're frizzled hens?

I get lost in the terminology.

Some of the chicks are frizzles, some just look like silkies.

I thought that is what you would get. Some offspring will be frizzled and some will be regular Silkies.

Sorry, folks--been trying to load up for a swap in the morning. Here are pics of my silkies--the white roo had a run-in with another rooster and damaged his beautiful afro and beard. I forgot to cover the pen when I let him out and a bully got in.
So are my red silkies a mixed breed?

All pure breeds of poultry are welcome in the swap. Easter Eggers are Welcome as all as they are non-standard color Ameraucanas. meaning mixed color Ameraucanas

yes EE are allowed as long as they are the way stated, meaning a coop of mixed color Amerauacana. All hens in coop must lay blue/green eggs no other colors. Meaning no Araucana and Ameraucana mixed together, or Ameraucana mixed with marans or barred rock or any other breed.

I am fine with the Silkies as long as the Frizzle is a Sizzle (meaning Is not a Frizzle Cochin) If the sizzle has a silkie comb, top knot and five toes I am cool with it.

We are not looking for show quality her just pure breeds.

They are actually frizzled Silkies, not Sizzles. I imagine they were mixed at some point, but a Sizzle has normal (non-silkied) feathers with other Silkie traits. Your birds are actually Silkies that have the frizzle gene.

*sitting on her hands and impatiently waiting for some kind of Brahma to be offered*

I only have some pure RC RIR from Dick Horstman that won at the Ohio Nationals for trade...I am longing for either Dark Brahmas, Partridge Brahmas or some of those experimental Blue Laced Brahmas I have seen posted. Hopefully, once this sizzle, frizzle, silkie thing going on has resolved itself, we can get going on this thread. I am soooo jonesing to hatch eggs...LOL
