I couldn't help it... I really don't need anymore breeds but I couldn't pass up those lemon blue cochins!
Every time I see them, I say OMGGGG I want those! But, I would rather have those elusive pastel calls
ETA: I will cave on those cochins one of these days
I've been watching for something else I couldn't resist to offer pastel/blue fawn calls. But now my blue fawn hen went broody and I think the pastel is still laying in that nest. I need to get this figured out.

LOL! I caught one of my silkies stealing eggs & sitting on them. No matter where in the coop anyone laid (not using divided nest boxes) she would roll that egg over to hers OR the others would wait til she got up to eat & drink then deposit her another egg. Unfortunately she was in the layer pen, and those eggs are not fertile
Not wanting to let a good broody go to waste, I put her by herself on some other silkie eggs that are fertile

I have an OEGB hen setting that collected some eggs from the other side of the divided nest box...she didn't even crack them
This winter I had 3 sizzle hens sitting on eggs and they would constantly steal each others eggs. The sikies would get up there and lay then leave the egg and one of the broodys would roll it under her. And same as the other post, when one got up to eat or potty they would come back to missing eggs. They where determined and when I took the remaning eggs that hadn't hatched they left the nest. Now the silkies are going broody.
Thank goodness i've only got 1 more order to fill.
