Hi hot2pot, it's always amazing the things you have to do,to get ready to take a trip. It looks like you got most of it done! Yesterday i got to hot and to disgusted and loaded up 25 chickens and took them to the sale today. It was hot and not much of a crowd but they brought 6 to 7 bucks each . Tomorrow we are going to butcher 30 more young birds, so that should help the feed bill and when my hobby turns into a lot of work it's not much fun.I still have about 80 chickens ,so i guess i'm almost out.lol.Keep up with that heart thing as i well know, you can't let it go. I'm hopeing the meds will fix you up.Have fun on your trip!!

Hey Coach, How have you been, besides hot?. We are all there. It's a bit cooler here in Florida, love it. Sad to see how decrepit my folks have become. Dad is easily exhausted, mom doesn't wear her bridge so she has a big gap in her teeth. And talks funny . Getting older is no picnic.
Tomorrow I am going to the baby shower to meet my new granddaughter! So I have been wrapping gifts. Plan to clean out junk at my aunt's place. She is in a home now, had no spouse or kids. The place is sitting vacant because it needs cleaning. I always have fun on vacation :-D

Well my niece has been home from Colorado all week so we have been running around with her and her 2 kids also my sis. Besides going to chicken sale we went to 2 furniture sales this week. My wife has a degree in art ed, so she got to buy some art this week, shes having a ball! Tomorrow a friend of mine is coming over to buy some of my new hamps roosters. We bought the chicks together so he knows that we payed 25 bucks each for chicks so thats what i'm asking for them--not counting a ton of feed,i'm getting my money back--my new hamps are German blood and from Doug ackers. They are beautiful. I have 9 pullets and 5 roosters, like i said i sold a bunch of chickens today and i hated to see my old hamp hens go, we had them for 2 years. They where only hatchery birds but great layers! A mex lady bought them, lifting them up to see how much they weight,i don't think shes going to keep them for pets.I have had vacations like yours before so your not alone on that one!Have fun with that granddaughter!! P.S. it finally rained there tonight!!!!!!

$25. Each for chicks?!? Wow I need to sell some like that!
Today we spent the whole morning cleaning stuff out of my aunt's place. I cleaned out three closets full of stuff. There is a big pile of junk at the curb and another big pile in the carport for Goodwill.
Then this afternoon I went to the baby shower for Marabella, my new baby granddaughter. I held that baby most of the time, and she never cried once. It was fun seeing all the baby gifts
And several relatives got together and bought them a new dishwasher. Their old one broke down, so it was much needed. Wonderful to see everyone.
Can't help wondering how all my critters are doing, separation anxiety I guess.:)

Last year, i went with my wife for a week on a trip to san Francisco . I didn't miss the kids much, but i did miss and worry about the animals and really missed my dog!!!

This morning I shipped off eggs, and we went over to work in my aunt's place. We got one whole room emptied out except the bed.And the second bedroom is maybe about a third done. My son came over and got a few pieces of furniture, and brought over the kids. So I got more grandbaby hugging in. The whole carport is full of stuff for Goodwill, and the garbage collection arrived and carted off a huge pile of stuff. The sad part is , there are still several rooms to do and the attic, and the laundry area is full as well.
Tomorrow we are flying to Nova Scotia to see his parents and other relatives. Last time I went there, I scraped the peeling paint off their house. So they were able to get the house painted. His mother needs a hip replacement and two knee replacements, but the doctors are so busy they can't get them done for years. Socialized medicine for you
We went to dinner at Red Lobster tonight, it was wonderful as always. I saw my other son, John, and his girl friend as well. So it was very enjoyable.
No frantic calls from my animal caretakers, so all must be well.

Yes, i did all that with my wife's great grand mother, her grand mother and my mom. It's sad and interesting and a lot of work all at the same time.Today we had a big black cloud with part of it hanging down coming at our house. I was coming back from getting feed and saw the cloud. So i drove like a mad man home closed the barn doors, ran into the house and got all the kids up and told them to get their shoes on and get ready to get under the house, but luckily we had a lot of wind and rain but no tornado. I don't get scared at storms but this was a bad looking SOB.Later tonight it came another big storm that knocked out our power for about 2 hours. We needed the rain but not sideways!!

Yikes, glad everyone is ok. Sounds scary Coach.
Well, it would not be so bad but my Aunt is a hoarder . We threw out 4 dumpsters full of stuff before she moved here, but she just kept going to goodwill and buying more stuff. She has multiple everything, toasters, lamps, chairs , irons, books, you name it . She had an absurd amount of clothes. I went through stuff with her one time, and she agreed 25 t shirts was enough . We went through to toss stuff out and at 50 she was still wanting to keep more

She screwed hooks in the walls all over to hang them up on. We are hoping to finish the job when we come back but I don't know if our backs can take it.

Naturally the place needs cleaning and painting too.. Ugh.

It has finally cooled down here. It is about time. I'm going to change the oil on the tractor today and work on another brooder for my younger chicks. I am going to meet with FSA today and see if I can keep any of the cows. The feed bill has gotten out of control. I'm hoping to be able to keep some.

Dealing with the debt and thought of selling my cows has me down in the dumps. My head tells me to sell but my heart says hang on. Ugh

Deb, I'm glad you are getting to spend quality time with your family and grandbabies.

Yes, the feed bills are an issue. That's why I am down to 16 goats. Maybe I will have to switch to bantams on the chicken side. I about fainted when I bought two weeks worth of feed for everyone!
We are at the airport in Tampa. It is raining.:p On the plus side, my son came with us and brought the grandson,so I got more hugging in:)
