Today I finished the curtains and the small area of the ceiling needing work. None too soon, we leave tomorrow for Florida. MIL has been unable to stir from bed much due to vertigo. DH took me to town, and i did manage to find some books by my favorite authors. But much shopping remains undone. Hope to get there early tomorrow. The weather has been beautiful, but i miss my home. Much work remains to be accomplished at my Aunt's place. However, my cousin helped my parents clean out the kitchen and the car port is once again full of stuff to be discarded or donated.
What is everyone else up to?

Well, the suitcases are packed and after lunch sometime we are headed for the airport. I just hope it goes better than last time!

We will be getting in very late so probably my folks will not be awake. Did some last minute shopping today, got some neat stuff at Michaels. Glad i have some books to read, all the waiting is tedious.

I read two whole books today. We spent about two and a half hours in the plane on the tarmac waiting in NYC for a thunderstorm to pass. My back is killing me. So now we are waiting for DS to come pick us up in Tampa. I will be glad to hit the sack tonight!

Hope you got some rest last night after the flight. I love to read also. I got a kindle a year ago and the text to speach really helps me get in a lot of reading or listening since I can now "read" for 1 1/2 per day while driving.

Well, Deb of the 5 eggs that made it to lock down not one pipped. Not sure what happened as my eggs from home hatched fine. I thought for sure I would have little chicks this time. I have not candled the lastest batch from you yet so I will see how they fare. Wish I could just drive over and get the eggs. Fingers crossed for the next group.

That stinks! You can always come to TN for vacation , we have lots of spare bedrooms:lau
I got to sleep around 3:30, and morning came early. We are on the way over to see DS and family:celebrate

We went to lunch with DS Bob and his family today. That baby girl never cried once in the restaurant! We bought her a little thing like a walker but without wheels for when she gets bigger. And she needed a little outfit that looks like a tutu and matching ballet slippers:gig Grandson Scotty got a new white shirt and tie. He ate everything in sight! First time I have seen their new house, nice and big.
I threw out four garbage bags of stuff out from the foot of mom's bed so far. Old magazines, disused old curtains etc.

More of the same. Maybe she can walk in without falling down now. We have one more day to spend , then back home to turn the bators on.

Way excited! I am trying to find some eggs around here to take back with me. The closest I have been to a chicken since I left TN was chicken balls at the Chinese restaurant. I am in chicken withdrawal.

Today we went to see our other son, John, and his girlfriend . After that, we went to DeSoto park . It has a nice beach and I collected some shells. It was a bit humid, but nice to see the ocean again. Then it started to rain. It was pouring by the time we got to the Greek restaurant . But we went in and had Gyros, very tasty. Stopped to get carpet deodorizer for mom and dad's place. Filled up the car with gas. Had a nice nap. My back is bothering me a lot, not looking forward to a long car ride tomorrow , starting at crack of dawn... But we are going home, so way cool. Dad and I went to the nursing home to see my aunt Hennie, she was glad to see us. I brought a box of framed pictures for her of all of us that she used to have at her home. So she enjoyed that. Then we stopped for Chinese food on the way back. I am going to have to go on a diet when I get back home.
What are you folks up to?

It's good you are coming home.Today i went to the sale and bought some more brown leghorns, bantam ameraucanas .2 more black sumataras and a young pair of coranation sussex. The main reason i got them was a friend is selling down and i know where they come from. They where all cheap like 4 bucks each but the sussexs where 18 each. They are about a third grown and out of the biggest rooster i have ever seen.I also got a load of lumber to start more pens and i went back up to Missouri with a friend to get 2 more young new Hampshire roosters. They are out of a different rooster than the pullets that i keep ,so i should be set for a while.
