BO rooster excaped his pen yesterday. I couldn't figure out why a hen was gripping the hackles of a SS hen. Pushed "her" away as if to say play nice with each other. DH comes home early, declares'Why is there a BO rooster out?" What rooster? THere's no BO rooster out. Oh yes there is, thew him back into the rooster pen where the Ameraucanas attacked him and after 30 min clearly was not going to accept him back. I rescued him and tossed him in a pen in the house. I now have two roosters back in the house!! Chicken math is a problem.

Waiting for the last 4 ewes to lamb. My old and ancient girl gets TLC. WOuld love to keep her girls this year.

Hope today is as nice as yesterday. To finish a run and build another rooster coop. Need a few more pallets for that--trip to the pallet place.Where to put it is becoming a question,too! LOL

I am so depressed. Bunny started kidding, I went down there and there was a butt hanging out, but no feet. I got the baby out but it had been dead a while, eyes were opaque and it smelled phew... Now Idk if she is having another or what and I figure it will be dead as well. Poor bunny, she can't get a break. Her ma and little brother died when she was small:'(

That is heart wrenching!! To have waited so long for the new arrivals. Does sound like the kid(s) died some time ago. Very strange. I'm sure you know to wash up well JIC. Do you have any suppositories to put in her? Vet uses Novalsan oblets into the uterus. I hope she recovers soon and will be ready for breeding season again.

Another dead kid... I gave Bunny drench and a shot of antibiotics. Taking her a bucket of electrolyte water as soon as the rain lets up. Yeah, it really sucks, this is her first freshening.

My heart is on the ground in three pieces.:'( I went to take bunny her electrolytes, and she had another back leg sticking out her back end, THIRD DEAD KID! I never heard of a goat having three her first time. Poor Bunny is at the bottom of the pecking order. I wonder if she just got butted too many times. I am just sick, seeing those dead babies born without a chance to even live. But having two breech births probably didn't help either.

I'm so sorry to hear about your baby goats.We lost one of are best milkers last year and i think we over wormed her. Animals are Gods gift to us,we take care of them as best we can.These things happen.

I'm sorry to hear about this - You might want to get Bunny examined by a vet. It sounds like she had a lot of complications, and if as you said, one of the kids smelled bad, that could indicate an internal infection or dead kids (in utero). If she had dead kids inside her or infection, Bunny could die. I might consider not breeding Bunny again - it depends I guess on what the cause of this is.

So Bunny spent the day in the small front pasture with Slim. I didn't want other does, or the buck with her , but felt she should have company. It is so sad, she is calling for her kids. He doesn't know his ma any more so I was hoping they might bond. Shipped a box of eggs today, bought a few groceries. Got two cages of chickens ready for the sale tomorrow . Must get up early, that will be hard
I am so sad. Had to milk Bunny and she just laid there. then she started calling her kids again...

Bunny will be a good mother: she is calling for her kids.Good mom. In time she will move on and company will help as goats are herding animals. I'm sure you know all this. It's a sad time every time these things happen.
