Only 7 out of 26.

Thats what I thought. So I think I will try one last time with mail order. That way they will be ok to put in with these. After that, I will hatch my own.

Imo, I'd go ahead and have them send more unless there's another blizzard coming. Then keep them in separate brooders until they can be integrated later on.

I'm sorry for all those chicks. I live in Iowa. I can't believe the hatchery mailed them. Saturday was awful, the ice, wind and cold. Foghorn if they send them again check the weather first. This weekend Iowa is suppose to be in the low thirties. I have an order from them that is suppose to be mailed out saturday. I sure hope your next batch is better. You know last year at this time the weather was so much warmer. Winter is hanging around here forever(at least it feels like it).

The little girls are doing just fine. I am amazed at how fast these little fluffballs adapt so quickly. What I've read is true, you CAN watch them for a long time. They are interesting to watch.

You aren't kidding, I watch my chickens all day long! When I'm not out there talking to them I'm looking out the window trying to catch them doing something funny. If only chicken watching was an occupation

or rather a paid occupation. I'm glad your chicks are doing well. Jen
