An acquaintance with some excess roosters didn't have the heart to, um, "name them Stew", and asked me to take them. I drove over to her house in my Volkswagen Jetta, and she had eight of them in a big cardboard box. It wouldn't fit in my trunk, so I put it in the back seat.
Of course they got out on the way home. Picture eight roosters bouncing around like footballs in a Volkswagen, trying to perch on the head rests, trying to fly out the windows, with feathers floating everywhere.
Of course a cop pulled up behind me as I was on the side of the highway trying to stuff them back in the box. He's probably still laughing.
Just had rooster stew for lunch. Now I'm going to go clean up feathers.
Does this sort of thing happen to anyone else?
