only dropped some fan feathers?

hi
my guy did not shed all of his fan.
he still has about 10 real scraggly corny looking feathers hanging on.
they about 3 ft or so long.

is this common?

It happens the new feathers will eventually push them out not to worry. how old is he?

i think this will be his 3rd winter, 4rth at most. (he was wild, but adopted us!) his fan was real small about 1 1/2 yrs ago when he came.
we brought him a pair of girls this summer, i wondered if having them around had something to do with not finishing losing the rest of his feathers. his new feathers are coming in again, they are sooo glossy gemmy greeny and fringy.

it does look a bit goofy, but happy laughter is a top benefits of having them around!

so, if its not a problem for him, im happy.

did his train look small like the one in the lower right hand corner? that one was 16 months old as were the other 3 to the left, the one in the upper right hand corned turned 3 after he dropped his train.

This boy was 2 in this photo and turned 3 after he dropped his train after breeding season.

they is are fab!!
peeks "train"(right?) was not that big , but when he came he was ALL beat up!!

sooo...
even this year, his train was not as nice as those. and i dont think they were as long.
he has good nutrition now. i think he was weak when he came to us.
i do think, though, that these new feathers are going to be much fuller and prettier.

whats coming in looks
very much like the luxurious guy on the bottom. those fringies up the side of the feather shafts are thick.
his spurs are almost as big as those too.
