Only feathers and a bit of guts left.

Something killed one of my chickens last night and left only feathers and a wee bit of guts. We live far enough north that we don't have skunks or Coons. Our biggest concern is always bears and cougars...but this was obviously neither of these. So, what else would climb a six foot fence and take just one bird? Fox? Coyote? Wiesel? Ugh...we really do need a gun!

My cat did that with the mice she killed. Took everything but left the guts. I've only had one predator problem once, and that was a bobcat.... a bobcat is a cat. I just remember it would grab a chicken, try to remove the feathers and start eating right there. But if it broke into your coop, it's hard to believe.

I hope someone else here has some suggestions

I am sorry if this is too gross but this is what I found. It was in the run,not in the coop. It was one of my smaller birds :( Whatever it was didn't break in,the little door from the run to the coop was open.
