Only lonely Hen

hi folks, long time no see, need some advice please

Unfortunately on Monday we had a tragedy,
Long story short, two of my darling Pekins didn't survive a play date with my sons and friends, so now I'm left with one.
My current circumstances don't allow me to get her any flock mates for a couple months at least, I am a fully fledged chook addict so this is not forever but until things change I need advice on how to keep her entertained.

Has anyone kept a single hen for a long time (even just in isolation from the rest) and them be happy, she's only a young bird, not even laying yet so I'd hate for her to start wasting or feather picking. Any advice on how to keep boredom at bay would be greatly appreciated

It's best that they have a buddy to keep them company. I would keep your son's and friends away from them if the kids are so rough with them or you could loose your last one too.

Thanks, didn't answer my question at all, I'll be getting her some friends as soon as I'm financially able but as I said it's not possible for at least a couple months.
Kids have been dealt with.

Any useful help would be appreciated please
