Can I get a day or two old chick to put with it? Don't I have to quarantine for at least 2 weeks?

I would put it with an older chick unless you are going to buy it from someone else. Then you should do the wait period.

duckling is 3 weeks old and huge...so thats out and This is the first chicken I have.

Are their any locals that you know of close by that you can get a baby chick from? One that has not be exposed to anything yet?

Yes there is a guy who lives in the next city with day old silkie chicks. Would that be okay? My baby is a showgirl silkie.

I'm no expert, but I would do it. Do you know if they were hatched by momma or in a bator?

He has different ages so I am not really sure. One day to 2 and a half weeks, so who knows. Which is better?

Seems to me the incubated ones would be. They would be the less exposed. Most chicks aren't born sick, they catch things later on,or at least that is my understanding. Like I said I am not an expert. I keep hoping if I keep answering you someone else will chime in.Maybe you should change the subject title to something like... One chick NEEDS your HELP ! to see if you get any responses

Thank you for all your help! Regardless I am going to get one I don't want this little baby all alone.
