Only One Egg Left - It hatched!

Just keep the membrane nice and moist so it does not dry up. Also keep him in your incubator for 4 hours after hatch so he dries off before you put him into the brooder. You may want to start off the brooder to get up to temp. It should be around the same temp as now or perhaps a little bit warmer. I usually keep mine at 90 degrees. Have a small cuddle toy ready and wrinkle up some cotton towels to snuggle in. Have a food mash and water for him. Small dishes so he does not swim in it. He wont eat much much at all and you can wait a day with the food if you like. The water is needed right away.
BTW you will have some messy stuff come out of the egg when he hatches. I can look dark green, quite gross for sure.

HE HATCHED!!!!!!!!! All by himself - I didn't have to do anything else!!! He's so cute!!

And the gross stuff freaked us out for a second thinking he was still attached, but he's not and he's chirping and moving around!

Party! Good that I gave you a warning about the gross stuff.

It wasn't that bad helping, because it was almost ready. It will need some sleep now, but should be hopping around in a few hours. It's so much work getting out of the egg.

Thank you so much for sharing your experience with this egg, Mrs. Duck.
I have learned so many useful and life saving things on this board.
Amazing.

Did you say what kind of duck he is?
If you did, I missed it. Sorry.
