After incubating about 24 eggs, of which 21 were tossed after about 15 days, and one was tossed at day 25 (which left me with 2), only one hatched. Now I have one totally cute but sure to be lonely little keet. It has very cool coloring, I will have to post a picture later today - but I feel bad that it is all alone. I have some 5 week old chickens it will be able to join in about 5 weeks, but do you think I should scare up another chick or keet to keep this one company? I thought about a stuffed toy and a mirror, but it will be missing out on a lot of socialization all alone for 5 weeks. I don't even know where to get another keet - I guess I could post on Craigslist. Sheesh, I have roughly nine zillion chickens and my husband will not be thrilled I am thinking of buying one more.

No, a Sportsman. It wasnt the hatch method so much a the eggs. It was the first time the females laid and most of the eggs were not fertile. I have a huge batch of eggs in now that should do a lot better. Some eggs might be too old but I expect a much better hatch. I am sure most of these eggs are fertile.
I am thinking I will get a chick for my keet, and, as expected, my DH was speechless.
